Fading, Belgrade, Serbia, 2022. The same window in most of the photographs, photographed by me in 2025, 2022 and 2021, but a totally different woman standing in front of it now. They say that the wounds are the places where the light comes in. So, I just embraced it. My photovoice journey started before the "Pink Frame" (Ružičasti kadar) research. As a photographer, I found joy and consolation in capturing precious moments even in the darkest period of my life - when I was undergoing chemotherapy. Photography helped me express my feelings and suppress my fears. With camera in my hands, I felt stronger - as if I was the one in control. This experience (terrible and enlightening st the same time) inspired me to facilitate a photovoice research with women who have also been diganosed with and recovering from breast cancer, like myself. Analyzing their photographs and naratives gave me the courage to share my personal story.
